US FDA Warning of Dangerous HCG Diet Products

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for protecting public health by regulating human drugs and biologics, animal drugs, medical devices, tobacco products, food (including animal food), cosmetics, and electronic products that emit radiation. That why, FDA on the official websites in article titled “avoid dangerous HCG Diet Products”is advising consumer to avoid human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG) weight-loss products as there is no substantial evidence that it increase weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction that it cause a more attractive or normal distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets. FDA says that these products sold in the form of oral drops, pellets and sprays and can be found online, at weight loss clinics and in some retail store. FDA declares that has not approved HCG for weight loss. HCG is approved only as a prescription drug for the treatment of female infertility and for other medical conditions. In addition, FDA asks the people have HCG products for weight loss, quit using it, throw it out, stop following the dieting instructions and talk to health care professional about safe and healthy weight loss plan. The patients and Health care professionals are also asked to report adverse events and side effects related to the use of these products to the FDA’s Med Watch Safety information and adverse Event.
